Don’t do it! There are a thousand other ways to try make a city look a bit more appealing. This is so far from appealing it’s extremely laughable. Mimicking the most famous sign in the world, the Hollywood sign is just wrong. Yeah good movies come out of Welly but if this is to be built I think people both nationally and internationally will look at it as something not to take a picture of .The Wellington Airport staff who are behind this should listen to the 56% of people disagreeing with the project. Lets hope Wellington lives up to it’s windy reputation and blows this thing over!Be a tad more creative…
Recently the Big break contest winner was announced on March 5th. Five young film makers were flown to New Zealand, given a NZ$100,000 budget and told they had three weeks to produce a three minute long clip that captures 100% New Zealand. The end results were judged by Peter Jackson and the winner caught their big break. Below is the winner Andres Borghi from Argentina.
My pick would have to go to kiwi local Tim McLachlan for “The Frosty Man and the BMX Kid.”
This is classic New Zealand humor right here…
Check out the full 15 minute film of Jay-Z, one of the greatest rappers of all time as he talks about his life and the build up to the peak of his career – playing at the Madison Square Garden.
You may of heard of Kid Cudi through his hit song “Day & Night”, but believe me, there is a lot more to this man. With a new bread of hip hop artists coming through this man is the pioneer. Teaming up with bands like MGMT and Ratatat make Cudi so unique. He is pushing the boundaries of hip hop with his unique sound, versatility and his ability to relate with his audience. he is an extremely down to earth person, not pursuing fame and money, but doing it for his fans and of course ” PURSUING HAPPINESS”
His debut album “man on the Moon” is very deep and sad at times with Cudi taking you in to a very cold and personal place, but he manages to make his songs happy and upbeat through his melodies. As much as i enjoyed the album, i am even more of a fan of his mixtapes, which are easily downloaded on his website www.kidcudi.com. Cudi’s back in the studio now working on his sophomore album “Cudder”, which is a collaboration album which will feature artists spanning from Snoop Dogg all the way to Green Day. Cudi hasn’t stopped with just music. He landed a role on the new hit show “How to make it in America” which airs Sunday nights on HBO. A very funny show that shows the struggle of how to make a buck in New York City. Now i know we can all relate to that in some way or another….
